Edwin nodded along with what Vanessa was saying, at first having a bit of trouble keeping up between how quickly she was speaking, and her accent. He wasn't sure what to make of her crying, since he already had the impression that she cried a lot, but that didn't mean he didn't appreciate her trying to apologize. He held up a hand to try to slow her, but he let her finish what she had to say before he replied.
"Listen," he said, his tone gentle and kind, "like I said, that was kind of a rough day, and honestly I don't even really remember what happened. I appreciate you coming to me to apologize, though." He probably remembered the slight more than he chose to let on, but that day had been so physically and emotionally exhausting that he sure as hell hadn't dwelled on her thing. "It's really big of you to try to patch things up, so, thank you." Again he smiled. "I bet a lot of people will come around once they see this side of you. Arriving here... Yeah, it's always tough. We all get it." Of course, people hadn't come around when it came to Joe, but Edwin kind of felt like Joe hadn't really put the effort in to patch up things. Oh well. There was only so much Edwin could do.
"I'm really glad you're okay after yesterday, by the way," he added. He had seen her the day before, when they had brought people back up in the snowcat, but he hadn't really made an effort to talk to her then. Now seemed better.
