Lucy hadn’t been expecting Vanessa to throw herself at her, and almost panicked. It took her a second to realize that the girl was just hugging her, and Lucy allowed herself to relax, rubbing Vanessa’s back lightly. “It’s okay, we can work this out.” She said softly to her friend. It was a relief that it honestly seemed like Vanessa wanted to better, because Lucy didn’t have an alternative idea here.
“Hey,” Lucy said gently, as she tried to untangle herself from Vanessa as delicately as possible. “I’m going to be behind you the entire time,” She told her firmly, “However, I think it’s so important that the apology comes directly from you. Whenever you’re ready. If you don’t want to face anyone directly, I would suggest that you do it over the network, and if someone gets an attitude with you, I’ll do my best to help, okay? If someone says something mean, you can ignore them. But it’s important that it comes from you.”
