Who: Lucy Nash and OPEN Where: The kitchen When: Around 9:30 am
To say that Lucy was disappointed to be in the land of snow was an understatement. Still dressed in light clothing from the warmer climate house, she was freezing when she finally realized where she was. She pulled the blanket tighter around her as she wandered around her room, exploring the familiar room. Everything was just as it had been before they’d moved houses.
She wandered to the blinking light of the computer, the blanket from her bed draped over her like a cloak as she moved. She followed the prompt, and proceeded to look at what other people had said. She didn’t realize that she’d been holding her breath until the familiar other people began posting. She didn’t like not knowing what was going on, or if someone was going to be missing.
She’d heard the click of the locks on her doors, and moved to shower, forcing herself to get ready for the day when she’d rather hold up in bed. Yesterday had been exhausting, she’d done everything she could possibly do for other people, waited on people as best she could and tried to ease them in any possible way. It left the woman tired, but Lucy craved people, and she couldn’t bring herself just to shut everyone out today.
After her shower, Lucy put on an extra layer, still feeling a chill in the air and missing the warm climate of the other house. She pulled the blanket back over her hoodie and jeans before moving out into the hallway.
As much as she liked the other place better, Lucy couldn’t hate the vague predictability of the house. There were no ghosts here. No creepy hay people. No pillars of things. She wandered into the kitchen, the blanket over her head as she tried to look for something to snack on, settling on grabbing a granola bar while she waited for some coffee to steep.
