"I was the last time I checked!" Dylan answered cheerfully to Vanessa's first question. If she was bothered by Vanessa's expectation that she'd be a dude, she didn't show it - and she wasn't, not really. She had a typically masculine name and they'd been talking over the network, so no real reason for Vanessa to know otherwise. She just hadn't thought to mention it because it wasn't a big deal.
She couldn't help the surprised and slightly taken aback eyebrow that shot up at Vanessa's insistence on learning how to cook, especially considering that she hadn't seemed so keen on it when Dylan had first offered. But hey, people could change their minds, right? So she just laughed a bit and reached for a bowl. "Okay, so let's start with something that's easy but fun," she suggested. "Why don't you grab some eggs, spinach, and whatever other favorite veggie you want? We can make egg cups - they're like little mini omelets, but muffin-shaped. You can make a bunch at once and then stick them in the fridge and they'll last like a week."
