It felt oddly familiar by now to be confronted with the same names over and over again, even though Jerome hadn't actually met many of them yet, and partially, he still heavily defied this feeling of developing some sentiment for this place, even though it was a negative one. But more importantly, he instantly regretted to having asked this question, because Pam, even though she still maintained her good spirits in a way, was visibly reliving some memories she didn't necessarily want to talk about, or so it seemed. In a way, it was reminiscent of what had happened with Oliver, and even though her explanations were worrisome to say the least, Jerome decided to drop the topic, nodding silently along. He really hoped They would leave him the fuck alone. Dealing with those kinds of shit was nothing he was looking forward to in any way.
Luckily, the animal tall brought back her smile, and thus, his own. Seeing Pam being to enthusiastically engaged with that topic provided a headspace Jerome really needed right now, a harmless distracting topic. Oliver had seemed uncomfortable talking about his life outside Zenith, and he was glad that Pam seemed to be the opposite, as of now, lingering in memories of home still was able to give Jerome some kind of peace. At least partially.
"It was definitely smaller than a parrot.", he replied with a smile, taking a sip from his coffee and glancing to the stove again, finding himself enjoying this conversation, and the wholesomeness Pam emitted when talking about her presumable favourite topic. "Oh, I actually meant favourite animal in general, you are right. To be honest, I would have expected you to name a very exotic animal as your favourite, don't ask me why." He smiled amusedly. "My parents owned a dog, but I don't really remember him, I was like three years old when he died. There are photos, though. He was way bigger than me."
