Jerome couldn't help the bitter laugh fleeing his lips when Oliver told him not to get too comfortable, and he slowly shook his head while still fumbling around with the cake, cutting it in slices and inhaling the absolutely wonderful scent. Jerome definitely had a sweet tooth, which obviously was connected to his passion regarding baking any kind of stuff, but oddly enough, he wasn't actually eating much sweets and bakery products at all.
"There is absolutely no danger of me getting too comfortable here, that much I can assure you. They surely wouldn't just put us into a summer setting out of good will." The fact he was way too uncomfortable had been the primary reason that he had been giving in to his wish to ask Oliver to meet up after all.
He simply nodded to Oliver's whole explanation, not feeling like dwelling too much on it, not wanting to go through possible explanations or hearing about former experiences. There was no good in constantly asking himself how the hell They were doing the things They were doing, and trying to wrap his head around things wasn't something he felt up to right now.
"At least it's quiet.", he said instead. "The day the music was playing was certainly... interesting.. At one point I felt like I was high, and the last time I was is maybe 35 years ago. Speaking of which, could it be that every single person here is younger than me?" He smiled a little amusedly, as this thought entered his mind again. Everyone he had met yet seemed pretty much younger than him, which, at this point, felt slightly peculiar.
