"On the door," Marco repeated, finding the bottle that Chase had described, and reading it to make sure that he hadn't grabbed god knows what else. He brought the milk back, and the syrup, and put them down next to the butter.
"Yeah? Good! I thought it was fun. Plus she offered me cigarettes, but, um, I'm trying not to do that." He didn't say to Chase that he was trying to be good so They would give Juno back. He'd told Kiley as much, and she had shot down the idea that he had any control over that. He wasn't entirely convinced, so he'd keep trying to be good and healthy for now. "The cookie trays only kind of worked, but it was awesome."
He shook his head when Chase asked about having snow where he was from. "Mm-mm. Los Angeles. Too warm. The only time I've ever seen snow was here," he said, nodding towards the windows. "You have snow where you're from?"
