“No, you didn’t do anything wrong,” Pam reassured Lucy, right along with Audrey, and resisted the urge to turn her head and look back at Joe. By the sound of it, everyone was on Team Lucy anyway. She rubbed her new friend’s back to be more comforting.
Edwin hadn’t been expecting Angry Oliver, since in the past he was pretty sure he’d been the mediator, but things had changed since then. And after already voicing his concerns over a situation like this, he wasn’t all that thrilled with how this was turning out. He didn’t want to treat it like this guy hadn’t done something wrong, but he sure as hell didn’t want to preemptively villainize someone who was just reacting.
So Edwin, in his nice dress clothes and eyeliner, moves closer, slowly, not wanting to seem like he was storming in. Joe had started shaking, and Edwin didn’t want to try to guess what that meant. “Okay, let’s all take a second to breathe. There’s a lot going on right now, and I think it might help if there was... less.” He took a deep breathe, trying to convince others to do the same. “I’m not going to act like I know the right thing to say, but I don’t think that anyone is going to get what they want the way things are going, so maybe we should just take a second to figure out what that is, and not fight in the hallway.”
