Lydia Martin is done with the supernatural. (fieldsmedal) wrote in motelca,
There's a lot she's expecting at this point. For Allison to yell at her and tell her she had no right to tell Scott to tell her the truth. For Allison to tell her it wasn't her decision to figure out when the two of them should talk about their relationship.
But that's just it. Every single scenario she's able to imagine has to do with Allison and Scott. None of them involve Stiles.
So she's far from prepared to hear his name coming out of Allison's lips, let alone imagine that he might have something to do with the reason why Allison is mad at her.
Allison's plan does partially work, though. Lydia lets go of her arm and doesn't follow. She can't, really. All she can do is stare after her in confusion as the familiar but almost instantly overwhelming pain wraps itself around her heart.
Because she isn't okay. She hasn't managed to achieve a level of numbness to make her comfortable enough with talking about him yet. She's not sure she ever will this time. Because just hearing his name makes that sense of loss wash over her and she wraps her arms around herself. Somehow, hearing Allison speak it makes it stronger. Like overwhelming grief.
With a deep, shaky breath, she takes a step back, keeping her eyes on Allison just for a second longer. But when her vision becomes blurred by tears, she turns around and heads back out of the restaurant and toward her room.
