Mocha, Mid-morning, Ang and OTA/MW
Ang waddled (literally these days) into the Mocha, grabbing a paper from the rack as she did so, in search of a cup of tea and some light snack-age. Preferably of the muffin or cookie variety, nothing too healthy! She felt in the need of a bit of company, but no way was she going outside, too cold and besides, there were usually more people in here!

She got a pot of tea, and a plate of muffins, and settled down at a table where she could be comfy and still accommodate 'the bump', and started idly browsing through the City News. The japanese earthquake and tsunamis featured heavily of course, and she sighed a little, the world seemed to be in complete flux right now. A thought that made her exclaim out loud as she read the next article, "The north pole is moving to where?"

Sibyl, who had been drinking a Mocha mocha and reading about Fukushima and planned anti-nuclear protests worldwide on her somewhat ageing laptop, looked up as the pregnant woman a few tables further on uttered her exclamation.

"That's a new problem," she said.

Ang looked up, "Oh, sorry, I'm just a bit surprised, Siberia might suit Santa quite well when you think about it, but you never think of the poles actually moving."

She sipped her tea, "The planet does seem to be quite unsteady just lately though doesn't it?"

"The north pole is moving to Siberia?" Sibyl asked. "What kind of newspaper is that?"

She shrugged.

"Yep, you can say that again. What kind of world are we going to to hand over to the next generation?"

"It's the local City News, but not such local news this morning, must be quiet. I dread to think, so I try not to worry about it, I just, do what I can to try and help, like not using carrier bags and recycling everything I can, but," she shrugged, "there's only so much any one person can do right?"

"I'm Anghara, I er, would get up, but, someone has been very active this morning and kicking rather hard, and as they've just stopped I'd rather not move and set them off again," she smiled. "Not long now though and they'll be their own person, separate and individual."

"And needing a decent world to grow up in," Sibyl said. "I'm Sibyl, and I can get up."

She picked up her laptop and mocha, and came over.

"I've been chatting about pickets with some friends, but we don't quite know where and when and how, yet," she added. "Depends on what comes out of Fukushima in the next few days, I guess."

"Pickets? I would have thought the Japanese needed help, I know emergency teams have gone over already, but, surely they don't need striking workers?" Ang was truly confused, it happened very easily sometimes, "I sent a donation to a children's charity, but, unless you meant picket in a different way?"

"Pickets against nuclear power stations," Sibyl said. "We have those buggers here as well. I don't think that after that horrifying example, there is any excuse to keep them running indefinitely."

"I rather think that depends on how you replace them? We're in no position to keep burning up fossil fuels at the rate we are, and the renewable source energies aren't anywhere near as efficient, so," she shrugged, "I can live with them, but I do agree they need to be more safely positioned."

She shook her head, "I'm not sure though how picketing the nuclear power stations helps the Japanese citizens though... does it?"

"It's not about helping them, that's quite another issue," Sibyl said. "It's about learning our lesson. But let's not talk politics. When are you due?"

"Oh about six weeks," Ang grinned, "I'm not sure I want to wait that long, but, little one here gets to make the decision on that one."

She nibbled on a muffin piece, "And I know I'm hoping they decide to come a little early. Have you got family?"

"Somehow, I don't miss those things so much, I love having company, the kids are spontaneous, especially this one with the kicking, and I'm about to start my own counselling practice, so I have a new job to look forward to that I can fit around my family," Ang grinned, "There are more bills, and earlier nights, but I don't miss the alternatives so much as I thought I would."

"Oh gods yes, it really would, I mean, we also change as we age, have new experiences, and it would be truly stultifying if we didn't," Ang smiled, "which is why I like living here, we have such a good variety of people."

She looked around, at other tenants enjoying their morning coffee, or tea, with various family members or friends, and smiled, "We have a nice little community here really, all different folks, and such a magnificent building."

"That's good to hear," Ang smiled, looking down as the baby kicked, "Of course the place just kind of grows on you, and seeps into you and eventually you can't think of living anywhere else, but, that's not necessarily a bad thing, is it?"

Ang leaned back a little more, and sipped at her tea, sometimes it was comfortable just to sit quietly in company. See what happened next.

"No, not long at all now really, a month or so, six weeks? I'm trying not to keep count, because it sounds so long sometimes." She smiled and rolled her eyes, "I'm trying not to whine, but right now, over would be good. But how's you? You're looking good, relaxed and happy. Is the painting going well?"

"Yes, it must get tedious lugging that around," Charlie said sympathetically. He had once been on a back packing holiday - never again. "The painting is going quite well. I'm working on the sketches I did at home over Christmas as well as the more local images. Busy busy. Speaking of which, I wanted to ask your opinion about something.""

"It does, but luckily I've managed to avoid the hottest summer months, Julie says that was always the worst time to be pregnant," Ang grinned, "I'll own up to it being more luck than judgement in my case though."

She shifted a little, topping up her tea cup and then settling back with it, "That's good to hear, you're always happier when it's going well, and my opinion? Gosh you must be desperate! What can I help you with?"

"Oh, well she's doing well with her studies, keeping her GPA up there, and she has quite a few pieces dotted around," Ang paused for a moment, thinking, "not to mention some she could call on for an exhibition, ones she did earlier? I'm guessing not everything might need to be up for sale, some of her earlier things could be 'on loan' from their owners?"

"If you think they're up to standard of course," Ang nodded, "I think she'll wibble like crazy, whine that she can't paint for toffee and then produce you a really nice selection of those and her grey-scale sketches with colour highlights, the ones she likes doing so much?"

"I think she's done by the end of May, but, you might be better off asking her about that?" Ang snickered, "I'd say I'm not her mother, but I'm still her guardian and however independent she is, she still comes to Sunday lunch every week."

"But I think she'll love the idea, it would really set her up and she'd work like crazy for it."

"Please, don't let either of us tell Emma that, or we'll be having to deal with that as well as wibbly nerves. Besides, she's interesting enough as she is I think." Ang chuckled, "I can just see you doing that though, on her behalf at that!"

"Only thing more nervy than one's own exhibition is putting on one for someone else," Charlie sighed. "But I'm much more sensible now. I was a silly kid then and certain that nobody would like me. Now I know that you can't please all the folks all the time, but if you invite the right selection of people to the preview you can save a lot of grief and get some good sales right off. There's nothing like a scatter of red 'sold' dots to get people reaching for their wallets."

"Oh yes, and Emma being Emma there will probably be lots of those around. She does some very nice things." Ang smiled, "I think I'll still let you tell her though, I'll just keep encouraging her to do stuff if she quibbles a bit, and of course, I can just about manage to sit still if she wants to do me again."

She chuckled, "Have a muffin, they won't last, I keep nibbling on them and one by one they are vanishing into my ever increasing girth."

"Being Alec, sort of quietly getting everything done and hoping for the best, but, I think we're mostly ready for this one, at least, we've done it before so we sort of know what to expect?" Ang shook her head, "I can't help wondering if he's still a bit dumbfounded at it all, but, he's doing all right."

She grinned, "He's just spent two days making sure we have everything on the midwife's list, even though we have stuff coming out of our ears from Gavin still, it's amazing how good he is with him though, it's a pleasure to see a father enjoying his child so much."

"I think Emma has that covered, even down to sorting out permission from her tutors in case she has to leave Rutherford in a tearing hurry," Ang grinned, "she's almost as desperate for this baby to arrive as the last one, and I was amazed how much she seemed to want to be around Gavin. She's been a brilliant big sister so far though, no worries there."

"But if she's going to have an exhibition, well, we might need to go to that and babies and toddlers might not make the best impression." She shook her head, "But I wouldn't ask you then either because you'd need to be there to share in her success, it's as much yours as hers given how much you've contributed to her art education."
