"I did not! I said it depends!" Stone argued. "And yeah she did. No more four horsemen for her," He looked over at Lara and smirked before he pulled the phone away to put it on speaker phone so they weren't screaming in his ear anymore. He lifted his arm free and moved it around Lara to help her with that whole barnacle thing. "Are you two gonna be able to make it back all right? And do you want me to order you anything?"
"I want you to order me a side of you, and have it self-delivered! Patty and Jake are going to leave soon, but the rest of us are going to go out on the town in our fancy clothes! You've gotta come!"
"No," Lara shook her head and turned her face into Stone's side. "He doesn't"
Stone looked down at himself and then grinned, all drunkenly lopsided, at Lara when she answered for him. He let out a little snort of laughter and then said, "There you have it. Follet says no. Besides, my fancy clothes are all wrinkled and lying on the floor," He confessed although she should've realized this would happen as soon as he got back here. Anyway. "Be careful wherever you go. You have my credit card, I'm sure, and I don't need to tell you to feel free to use it do I?" He asked. "And we'll gather whoever's left standing tomorrow morning and go get some food instead." See, compromise, or something.
Lara smiled at Stone's laughing and gave the closest part of his side a kiss when he told Lis he wasn't going to go.
Lis heaved a sigh. No, a few, actually, for show. "Fine, fine. I'll be holding you to breakfast tomorrow, though." The odds were highly unlikely Lis would want to get up for breakfast, so this threat was kind of empty. She meant it at the moment, though, and if they couldn't get breakfast, then surely they'd get lunch. "And of course I know I can use your card, snookums. Speaking of, I should probably let you know that I put a check for twenty thousand dollars into Patty and Jake's card. Toodles!" And she hung up before he had a chance to respond.
They could still have breakfast at some late afternoon time - their flight could be delayed and altered and all. Or lunch or whatever as he was sure that Lis and Lara's friends wouldn't be getting up super early...well depending on what checkout times were he supposed. Then again, Stone could just keep their suite for a second day and whoever could crash in various parts of it until they had to leave. Anyway! "Okay, have-wait, WHAT?" Of course, Lis had already hung up before he could respond so Stone was just left staring at the phone with wide eyes and shaking his head. "...Holy shit I just paid for most of their wedding..." He blinked.
Holy shit was right. Lara's jaw dropped open and she moved her head back to look up at Stone. "Dude...she's gonna, like, bankrupt you." Maybe that was unlikely, but it seemed pretty possible at the drunken moment.
Stone blinked at the phone again and flipped it shut after switching it off of being on speaker. He reached out and put it down on the nightstand and shook his head again. "...Y'know at first I thought, no way, she's just going a little buck wild, she'll chill out." He shook his head. He didn't really think she'd be able to bankrupt him since in interest alone Stone made back most of what she spent - and he spent way more than Lis did in the donations and all that per year anyway but still! "I thought she'd put a few thousand in there, I didn't think she'd go double digit on me." Now that he thought about it, he was actually surprised that it was twenty thousand and not something like...fifty. Good lord.
"She's like...one of those people who wins the Powerball and then ends up homeless within a year," Lara marvelled with a shake of her head. "And she wasn't even that close to Patty or Jake. Imagine how much she'd give to someone like someone from her band or something." She lowered her head to let it rest on his chest.
Stone let out a groan and his eyes rolled up into his head right before he closed them. "...I need to give her a lecture or something don't I?" Nah, not really. Maybe. The money would be fine and all but tossing it at people and all was kinda...Yeah maybe he'd need to talk to her about it. He shook his head and distracted himself with lifting the room service menu again.
