Bea was starting to get concerned. More than concerned. She took his hands and started backing down the hall, wishing for once he wasn't so goddamn big. She might be able to manage him better if he didn't have at least seventy pounds on her.
"Eli," she said, making him look at her. "It's me. Baby, we need to go to bed, okay? We need to go lay down. Don't worry about anything else." She craned her head. "Pippa, Pax! Come."
Pax scampered from behind Pippa and darted down the hall to the bedroom while Pippa backed away slowly.
