Rhiannon, Tristan and NPC's Everett, Harvey and Miri; Her apartment; Saturday.
"So I'm thinking we'll have the baby shower sometime in January," Miri was saying as she lay out the selection of invitations that she wanted Rhiannon to pick from. "Maybe February. Whatever Super Bowl Sunday is. We'll want to make it an issue for the boys, obviously."
"Obviously," Rhiannon said with a snort from where she was sitting on the couch with Auggie in her lap, laying very still atop her rapidly growing baby bump. Harvey was sitting in the floor drawing a picture on some construction paper with the glitter pens Miri had brought over and was studiously ignoring the two women as they planned for another 'girl party' as he liked to call them.
There was a knock at the door and, figuring it was the Chinese they'd just ordered out for about fifteen minutes ago, Miri went to answer the door.
"Where the hell is Rhiannon?" Everett said as he swept past Miri and into the apartment. Her first thought was that she was surprised that he'd bothered knocking since he usually swept in without such a courtesy, but seeing as how his hands were empty he'd likely forgotten his key and didn't want to bother the boys at the desk since he was undoubtedly about to make a scene.
Everett froze when he took in the sight of her and his eyes went to the telling bump that was her stomach. He gaped at it, then met her gaze. "It's true," he said, something indescribable in his voice.
"Yes," she said with a nod, her hand sliding over her stomach. "In March."
He looked past her to where Harvey was laying on the floor, frozen with his dark eyes wide and staring at his father. It was the first sign of genuine grief she'd seen on Everett's face outside of the first time she'd met him at her sister's funeral. His hand went to his hair and he made a low noise.
"You're not staying here," he said finally. "If you're with him then you're with him and we're done. Get your shit and get out."
Rhiannon's spine stiffened. "That's the plan. We're moving at the first of November. We got an apartment elsewhere." It was in the Manor as well, but he didn't need to know that.
"I mean now," he said, voice low, and she was reminded of how genuinely cruel he could be when he wanted.
"It's a week, Everett," Rhiannon said after swallowing harshly. Sure, they could go stay with Tristan, but she wasn't able to move her things or Harvey's things on such a short notice. "Maybe a little more. We'll be out at the first of the month. Please. Let me get Harvey ready. I'll need time."
His jaw firmed and he looked at the little boy who moved to sit up on his knees. Rhiannon tensed and Miri moved from her place beside the door where she'd been standing silently and taking in the exchange. She moved to Harvey and scooped him up on her hip and carried him down the hall to his bedroom. She didn't think it was going to get any better in there. Everett's eyes were dark as he watched the woman he only vaguely recognized handle his son and he looked back at Rhiannon, then finally the direction his son had gone in again.
"Nothing else from me, do you understand?" He said after a moment. "I don't give a fuck what happens to you or that kid. You're his problem now. I don't give a fuck. And whenever he gets tired of you and moves his shit on, don't you dare come back to me. You and that kid are dead to me. Understand?"
Rhiannon swallowed thickly but nodded, her eyes bright. "Fine."
"I'll give you until November seventh, and if I come here and you, that kid or anything of yours is in this apartment, I'm throwing it out on the street."
He stomped out the door, slamming it behind him and Harvey shot out of his bedroom with Miri on his heels. He was crying, and he climbed up in Rhiannon's lap. "We have to leave our home? He's kicking us out?"
"No, sweetie," Rhiannon said as she pulled Harvey as close as she could with her belly in the way and rocked him. "We're moving out with Tristan anyway, remember?"
Harvey sniffed and wiped at his nose and Rhiannon made a soothing noise again. "We're always going to have a home. Nothing to be scared about."
"But... He said he didn't want to see me again. And he's my dad." Harvey pointed out. "Won't he miss me even a little?"
"Oh sweetie," Rhiannon said, smoothing her hand over the back of his head. "We're fine without him. We have Tristan."
"But he said Tristan was going to leave!" Harvey argued. "And if we can't live with Tristan, where will we go?"
"We'll find another place, just me and you," she soothed him. "We'll be fine. And we'll always be together. Okay?"
Harvey was obviously upset and confused, and Rhiannon was getting upset the more she tried to calm him and failed. Miri moved to the hallway where her purse was and got her cell phone out to call Tristan and leave a voicemail for him to come home.
Summary: Everett finds out that Rhiannon is pregnant and shows up to tell her that he's cutting her and Harvey off and gives her until November 7 to be out of the apartment. Tristan shows up to smooth everything over and offers to let her and Harvey move in with him until another apartment becomes available.
