Charlie strolled along the alley behind the gallery with a large brass pot under his arm and food for thought in his mind. The skate shop was closing but Kelsey, who had been trying to keep it going, was staying on to work for the new owner.
"It's gonna be a book shop," she had said, a toss of her head flicking her beaded dreads back over her shoulder. "How am I gonna fit in a book shop."
"Did you like skateboards THAT much?" Charlie asked and she admitted that no she didn't but she DID like a regular pay check.
"If your new boss is nasty to you come tell me and I'll sort him out," he promised and Kelsey laughed and laughed.
So - new neighbours - a chocolate shop AND a bookshop. That would be interesting.

He flicked on his indicators and pulled over to the kerb in response to a wave.

Late afternoon
Vincenzo leaned over Franks shoulder and watched the monitors. "Yeah, I've seen him," he said. "Look Frank, if Dr Mitchell wants to give him a key that's her business. We'll just keep an eye on him, yeah?"
"Yeah," Frank said and made a note in the day book.

Since the phone was turned to hands free it seemed as though he was talking to himself when he said, "I don't care who his father is or what he looks like I'm not paying anyone that much for sweeping up and making skinny lattes. No!"
