"Ah sorry," Nick said, "didn't mean to put a crick in your neck." He put his coffee on the table, hitched up his pants a tad then sank down to sit on his heels - a much more comfortable height for her. "When there's enough of us, we go round and check all the units before the hot weather begins," he explained, "but this year there's only me and Phil so we're fixing problems as they crop up and asking people as we see them if they've got any uneasy clunks and rattles." He smiled. "It's not the level of service we'd like to offer but everything seems to be working pretty well this year so ..." He shrugged.
