The feeling of possessiveness was constant now. He hated it that all these men could see everything of her and have her acting and dancing this way in front of them. He started to feel like wanting to leave the tent entirely since it was very hard to cope with watching her with a whole tent full of others, but then again, somehow he couldn't quite turn his eyes away. She was like a trapped siren with a sad but entrancing song.
When he felt the show was drawing to an end, finally, Thomas got out his cigarettes and put one between his lips already. He really needed a smoke, and to get the hell away from these barbarians as soon as he could. But being stuck between the stage and the crowd, he couldn't move yet, so he had to watch the show till the very end.
