Daphne appeared a moment later, eyes and nose red, face pale and her hair a little rumpled. She'd stayed with Isabella and Micah almost all night before they'd forced her to go home, and then came back first thing this morning. Isabella had told the nurses that Daphne was her mother because it was the closest thing to the truth now. No one had argued.
