Apt. 229, Early Evening, Jazz and Cleo
The Gonzalez sisters had been in the middle of rock, paper, scissoring (3 out of 5 of course) over what they'd be having for dinner when Jazz's phone had started trilling from inside her back pocket. It was the "I'm Too Sexy" ringtone and there was only person that could be.
Putting the game on hold, Jazz disappeared back to her bedroom for privacy while Cleo waited, contemplating her strategy, in the living room. Five minutes went by, then ten...twenty.
Forty-five minutes later, Cleo knocked on Jazz's door and gently pushed it open, saying, "So are we eating tonight or-" She stopped short when she realized Jazz wasn't still on the phone, but was instead standing in front of her vanity, holding a red off-the-shoulder sweater and a ruffled black skirt up against herself. Behind her on the bed several other outfits, the rejects, were piled on the bedspread.
Jazz blinked at her sister, a little sheepish. But then she tipped her head and rocked a little on her heels, showing off the outfit. "What do you think?" she asked. "Does this say 'meeting the family' to you?"
"Um..." Cleo looked her up and down critically. They both knew that in the end it probably wouldn't matter what she wore, Avery's family wasn't likely to approve of her, but Cleo was nice enough not to say it.
She came into the room and stepped behind Jazz, pulling her hair back and up. She studied the effect in the mirror for a moment then let Jazz's hair go, shaking her head. "No. Definitely not." She smiled mischievously. "But it does say, 'time go shopping!'"
Jazz laughed softly, and started to protest, but then changed her mind. "Actually, I do still need to pick up a gift for Emily's birthday...."
Cleo bounced and squealed, "Let me get my purse," and bounded from the room, Jazz's laughter trailing after her.
