Bea sighed. "Better come back in one piece and concious with a pulse," she teased her grandfather before stepping in and giving Eli a hug. "I'll be in here with her. Scream if you need me."
Marcus chuckled and picked up his pipe and a pack of matches before gesturing Eli to the back door that lead to a porch and a view where there were horses several horses running through acres of fenced in land.
"I'll get straight to the point," he said as he paused to strike a match for his pipe, light it, then shake the match out. "I haven't been around Bean in years, not by choice mind you, but I recognize the look she has on her face when it comes to you and I won't tolerate any sort of bullshit where she's concerned. I don't know all of what that kid's been through, but I'm guessing it's enough. I need to know what your intentions are."
