"Oh, I always hated that story," Charlie said and, seeing that Mr Snow was looking a bit blank, elaborated. "It's that one about the castle in Scotland where there was a wedding feast and the bride and groom decided to play hide and seek, and she hid and they couldn't find her. In fact nobody found her until two hundred years later when a maid found an old trunk in an attic and when they forced the lock they found a skeleton in bridal finery!" He made a face. "Horrible. Though, of course, I think it's likely that the groom did her in, because that way he was able to keep the dowry."
