"Yes, thank you," Isabella said with a relieved sigh and squeezed his arm. "I'm so thankful for you, Del." Usually this was the sort of mess she'd have to handle on her own, but having Del around had made things loads easier in every aspect.
At his gesture she walked out ahead of him and came to a dead stop. There was a large tray of brightly colored cupcakes and a few bright gift bags sitting on Daphne's desk.
"Daaaappphhh," she said, sounding put out even though she couldn't help but smile.
"What?" she replied and walked over to give her a hug. "I've made you cupcakes on your birthday your entire life young lady. Can't teach an old dog new tricks and I'm not gonna stop now."
