Monday evening, the Conservatory, Laura OTA
Laura stood in the Conservatory with a cup of tea in her hands and a frown on her face. She was still trying to figure out if she had been just incredibly drunk or something in the party to think that the place had been a tropical island, and to forget all about safety or privacy. Now the Conservatory looked like it always had before Saturday night, and she was wondering if she should find out if it had simply been decorated very well.

Loki watched from near the fountain, smirking to himself. It had been quite a night to be sure but there was nothing left in the fountain or conservatory to give a clue to what had happened.

Other than Loki himself of course.

Chuckling softly he trailed his fingers in the water.

Laura sipped her tea and walked around a bit aimlessly until she spotted the man with the red hair. Ridiculous goth-tard, she thought at first, but... her senses told her he was something far more than just a deluded nerd thinking he might be cool if he dressed in black and dyed his hair unnatural.

It was yet another thing she did not understand, and it gave her the creeps. But it also made her feel like she might get clues from him.

"Hey," she said as she walked closer.

"Hey," he replied with a smile.

"Were you at the Halloween ball, by any chance?" Laura asked as she stopped by the fountain with her arms crossed over her chest, holding the tea mug under her chin.

"Yes. Wouldn't have missed it for the world. Why?"

"Was this place decorated somehow for the party?" she asked looking around. Laura wasn't even sure where she and Smith had been in the Conservatory because it had looked so convincingly different.

"Oh I think it was. A bit anyway."

He studied her for a moment. It really was nice how the Manor always seemed to find the talented ones. He smiled, fingers trailing through the water some more.

"A bit? Oh boy, I must've been really drunk then," she gave a dry chuckle. "Funny how your mind plays tricks on you when you're high on..." she paused to think. Love? Lust? Alcohol?

"Life?"

He laughed, the sound low and a bit on the crazy side.

Laura stared at him but finally slowly nodded. "I suppose. So how was the party for you?" she asked deciding it would not be wise to unload on a stranger. Especially on a weirdo like this guy seemed to be.

"Fantastic," he replied. "The dancing was fun and the conservatory - was interesting to say the least." He tilted his head, studying her. "But I get the impression you might not have had as much fun as I did?"

"Oh no," Laura shook her head. "It was fun. Amazing. One of the best parties I've ever attended. But in retrospection there was a lot of things that don't make sense."

"If it was fun and amazing does it really matter if it made sense?"
