She wasn't sure what finally woke her, but one moment she was still floating in a black, warm void and the next she was blinking up at ceiling, watching it come slowly into focus. Her fingers flexed and gently pulled the blanket, and the jacket beneath, closer. The familiar scent of cologne and cigarettes tickled her nose and when she spotted the glass on her nightstand her addled brain could only think of one thing.
"Thomas?" she asked softly in a hoarse voice and tried to sit up.
Pain immediately hit her as she tried to move and she cried out sharply, dropping back against the mattress quickly, whimpering.
