He shook his head, over and over again, denying what Emma said even though it made sense. She was the second person to tell him this week that Julia was here and the drawing looked just like her. She was here. But she couldn't be. She was dead. Gone. She was still breaking his heart and it just wasn't possible that she was here to torture him by offering him hope. "No," he said firmly, handing the drawing back to her with his hands shaking and a blank face. "That's not...She isn't...No." He stood. "I'll see you later, Emma." He had to leave, get out of this public place and far away from everyone that knew him and could judge him if he broke down, which he was very close to doing. Julia looked from Niles to Emma and then back again, the sadness on her face cranked up another million degrees as she watched Niles shut down and then walk out of the Mocha. He'd done that when they were kids to hide how upset he was. It'd always been the story with them, Niles needed fixing, she could do it, but he'd never let her.
