Niles had found Elspeth's present a few nights ago. It seemed like an eternity ago that he'd bought it for her that day he'd went to the street fair. He hadn't seen Elspeth since the night before he left for New Orleans, and that made him sad. She'd probably worried about him maybe a little, and he should have went to see her before now. He'd wrapped the long, slender box in Garfield comic strips sometime around six a.m. this morning. It'd seemed like a good idea then, but fuck it, it'd been officially a week since he'd gotten any sleep. It seemed a little silly now, but those comic strips were his favorite. Maybe she'd appreciate them? He made his way to the office, figuring he'd try his luck there, and gently rapped on her door.
