Stone narrowed his eyes a little. "Why don't we start with the first issue on the table - we both know you're not really pissed about me buying a building to put a business in it." he held his finger up to keep her from interrupting before he added.
"And, if I'm wrong about that, then let me be the first to say that just because I have money doesn't mean I use it as frivolously as you think I do. In fact, if I was as flippant as you seem to think I am with my money then I wouldn't even work at all, which it sounds like you think anyway, from the retort you made after I asked how work was for you." What? It kind of irritated him that any time he used money at all, it was like she was looking down at him for it - nevermind that he actually did work and didn't just loaf around doing whatever he wanted all the time. In fact buying the other part of his building was a business transaction and considering that she had had to spy on people to get them evicted in order to even buy the place above her, he felt this was highly hypocritical of her. Or maybe he just didn't want her accusing him even subtly of anything like his parents were likely to do.
He'd intended on actually telling her about the hot tub stuff, but instead had wound up all peeved at her picking on the store stuff. So it was entirely possible this was going to turn into some big thing now, he supposed. Fantastic.
