Gilly arched a single eyebrow at the surprise. She was prepared for a follow up. She caught the nuance of the question and took a deep breath. She was not pleased by all this crap.
Wasn't it counterproductive to keep her back here asking stupid questions when she should be working? They both had a strong work ethic, didn't they?
"Poise, presentation and discipline are important characteristics to not only have but to train for a specific environment," she said. "Jobs look good on your record and resume, and to be quite honest and blunt with you, the paycheck's pretty nice too. I pay my own tuition, my own vehicle insurance and that's on top of funding projects for my different classes," she explained.
"I also would not like to just do one singular thing throughout my entire life. That would make a person very singular and less well rounded than I personally would like to be." She finished up her statement and then fell silent, waiting for whatever reaction either of them wanted to give or for a follow-up question.
