To help make the transition easier, I've got gifts! Well, not gifts so much as things I've been hoarding on my computer in case we ever needed to use them.
I've got a zip file there with uploaders for both Macs and PCs and for both GJ and IJ. They're really awesomely handy. I've tested the PC ones and they work...for XP. I have no idea if they work on Vista. And I don't have a Mac, so I haven't tried those, either.
These files are modified from that original GJ uploader that Missy's now-husband made a long, long time ago! I didn't modify them, though. I snagged them from various places on GJ.
Okay, inside the zip folder are two other folders, one labeled "GreatestJournal," and one labeled "InsaneJournal." Pretty self-explanatory. So are the folders within those folders, which are named "Mac" and "PC."
Inside the folders things get a little trickier because I gave the other zips dumb names. So, explanation, for the InsaneJournal part because that's where we are:
InsaneJournal - Mac IJMac.zip --> Only uploads icons; you have to input your own keywords later KJMacKw.tar.zip & IJMacKw.zip --> Uploads icons and keywords. There are two files because I found two files for it.
InsaneJournal - PC IJ PC.zip --> Only uploads icons; you have to input your own keywords later IJ PC Kw.zip --> Uploads icons and keywords.
How the keyword uploading works The program takes each icon's filename, and puts that in as the icon's keyword. Easy enough, right? There's only one hitch, and that is that it doesn't upload more than one keyword for each icon. I've tried it. If there's a comma in the filename, it'll just clear out the keyword altogether, and IJ will give the icon a random number for a keyword. So that's annoying if you have icons with multiple keywords, but it's only a small set back. And you can always go in later and put in those keywords.
I hope this is helpful and if anything doesn't make sense, let me know!
