He was silent for a moment, eyes on the woman on stage.
"Yes," he said after a moment. "But - that has begun to change."
He clasped Angela's hand tightly, perhaps painfully so, like a man trying to keep from drowning. It had taken him years - years to crawl his way out of the deep dark pit the loss of Keira had sent him into. And it was because of the woman next to him, a bright and shining light that had given him the strength to climb out of that pit.
But now he hovered on the edge, so close to falling back in as that siren song called to him and the only thing keeping him from it was Angela.
