Andy turned, her laugh drowned by the cheers and clapping of the crowd. Then she saw his face and stared.
"Erik," she repeated. "What's the matter. Oh God are you all right?"
The clapping was dying down and on stage the accompanist began to play as a slightly built woman with a cloud of dark hair around her pale face stepped out from the makeshift wings.
