Early Morning - Michaels Bros Store - Spencer (Closed)
Spencer was in extra early for a meeting with his chief of security. The dour faced man was not a patch on Abrams though, he smiled too much and acted more like a doorman sometimes. "The tapes are clear Sir, the person gained a considerable amount of weight while walking round the store."
Spencer looked up. "But none of the alarms sounded, and nobody thought to stop them from leaving?"
"They came in through one door, went through every department, and left through a different door Sir, the guys on the exit hadn't got a clue." The security guard shifted uncomfortably, "The tape covers just yesterday Sir, but the hat, coat and glasses thing, along with the flat shoes? We can't tell if it's a man or a woman."
Spencer looked down at the tape still playing on the screen in front of him. "It's a woman. No man on the planet can move his hips like that and still look natural, especially when they turn and look at stuff. Do we have a list of what was taken?"
"Yes Sir," the guard set a piece of paper down on the desk, "We found the security tags were cut off and left in one of the toilet facilities."
"How much? Bloody hell." Spencer had not been expecting a four figure sum. "We need alarms on the toilets, no stock to be taken through there, have everyone alert for anyone even remotely suspicious, and the culprit is probably about five eight? Short for a man, but mmm," he glared more closely at the screen, spotting something and pausing it so the guard could see it too,"just look at those fingernails, that's a woman all right."
The guard leaned in, and had to agree. "Well, we'll keep an eye out for anyone in big floppy hats and full length trench coats, but..." he trailed off, fully aware that if the culprit returned, and they were likely to, they probably wouldn't wear the same disguise."
"I know, bit hard to spot someone you barely notice in the crowd to start with. Cold weather is not our friend right now, but, I'll get a memo out to all the staff, this person must have walked past one of my floor staff, at least one, more than once. They seem to have gone up gaining weight, and then down once they had their fill."
For someone to just walk away with nearly $3000 of clothing was obscene in Spencer's book, but if he'd been made aware of one thing it was that they always came back. So he knew that a little patience, tighten up on security, and having all staff on the lookout meant he'd get another go at catching this person. He wanted them caught. Before they hit the jewellery department
