[info]avengedlove
My birthday was yesterday, making me 22, and my powers also returned, which means yesterday was a total win. Since I'm too hungover in no mood to think, I have a question for everyone -- what qualities attract you to others?

Do you like them feisty, sweet, violent? Tell me, if you want, and who knows? Maybe someone else here will be your type.

Also, your questions, I'll take them. Anonymous, openly, whatever's clever.

I don't even know for how many years was I subjected to a particular power of mine that simply made almost every single quiet time of my life a lot less enjoyable, but seeing as how things are right now...memories and no powers?

I'm sorry, but I would like it to stay like this. Forever.

[Sedna]

Can you see the dead? I could until this happened. I'm not trying to imply I didn't respect them...but this is so much better, I can finally enjoy silence without a dead person's ghost spilling their hearts all over me.

We should do something. We should celebrate. And I guess you could present...your guy to me?

[Fox Filter]

I'm never the one who does this, but I'm feeling pretty damn good right now. Shall we have some fun?

[Native American Pantheon]

It's probably the worst time to do this, but I wanted to take the time to let you know that I'm around. They never really tried to explain just who I was when the news went all crazy about me, since there isn't much to work with in the first place.

I'm Qailertetang, hi.

Hopefully we'll get along?

So. He's here What do I

I feel that everything that can be said about losing one's powers for the week, or potentially for longer, has already been said, and since there's not much we can do about it, we may as well move forward the best we can for now.

Just keep swimming

[info]pesco
I should probably be glad that the fish have stopped talking to me. I went for a swim in the lake and a catfish brushed me. He didn't apologize, which is unusual (they're very polite creatures). I figured he had an off day, but when the minnows didn't chant and the eel didn't ask about the next boater coming in, I thought, you know. Maybe I was deaf.

But there's a spot. On my foot. There's a spot on my foot. MY FEET ARE NO LONGER IMPECCABLE.

Right?

I really didn't come here to get into more trouble that I already am. I mean the people in charge here won't allow it right?

Right??

Does anyone ever wonder why we're in this situation? Not just in this town, but why we've been reincarnated? Some of us haven't even had our myths completed yet. I dunno, I think I'm just talking out of my ass.

[info]naiveties

I feel real fortunate that my place was out of the way of most of the protesters, but I know a lot of houses and stores got damaged in the riots, so... if anyone needs anything, I'll come help.

I thought about painting my hallway walls next weekend, but then I thought, if someone moves in with me and hates the color... well, I was gonna ask anyway. Is anyone looking for a place? I'm down on Blackburn.

Will you help me pick out a cat at the shelter tomorrow?

Izanami is frustrated

[info]inviting_sorrow
What I would say is the most frustrating aspect of the riots is not the violence or the vitriol, though they are frightening by themselves, but the ignorance. Representative Jackson's words had nothing to do with science or reason and everything to do with the same old fear-mongering and righteousness of those in power.

I would suggest all politicians take a look at their words, compare the speeches they give about incarnates to other groups we've discriminated against and examine how few differences there are in the rhetoric.

In order to understand prejudice, we have to study people. One way researchers today are doing just that is through Project Implicit.

"Project Implicit represents a collaborative research effort between researchers at Harvard University, the University of Virginia, and University of Washington. While the particular purposes of each study vary considerably, most studies available at Project Implicit examine thoughts and feelings that exist either outside of conscious awareness or outside of conscious control. The primary goals of Project Implicit are to provide a safe, secure, and well-designed virtual environment to investigate psychological issues and, at the same time, provide visitors and participants with an experience that is both educational and engaging."

One test you could take in order to identify your preferences is focused on the 2012 Presidential Election. The interpretations this survey makes about your answers may surprise you.

I've got a dilemma, and I need someone smart or with medical knowledge to solve a problem for me. I've got a nasty headache, and I'm not sure what I can take for it. I've got ibuprofen and acetaminophen, so which is safe? I wouldn't want to die so soon after getting back on my feet, you know?

[MMA]

[Legion doesn't say anything. For a moment, it seems like just a repeat of the audio of the speech, a little distorted, perhaps, by subpar recording equipment.

And then something vaguely musical kicks in, layered overtop of the speech, though not enough to drown it out. It's not Legion's voice singing anything, but a simple playing of the first verse of Let's Have a War.

[info]gynandrous
I have never been good at introductions. It’s been a constant in my life that things tended to be a lot less weird when a parent or a professor was the one doing the introductions, or maybe asking for everyone to talk; I knew I wouldn’t be the first so at least I had some idea of what people wanted to hear. Or expected to hear, at least; I’ve never been too convinced people themselves know what they want, and I guess I’m not talking about introductions only.

But anyway, I suppose is too late to keep holding to the way I used to think, as that only got me in a huge mess that sent me here. You know, it was on the news a couple of months ago. Storm-in-a-classroom? Yours truly. Qailertetang, that’s a-me. I don’t suppose most of you would know who I am, seeing as how I had to google myself and realize there was as much information of me as I have written up until now. If you do know/knew me though, we should probably talk. Specially if you’re Sedna. But in this time and age I’m Carlile Fox. Jordan, my fraternal twin (so we don’t look identical, obviously) came along with me, although I have no idea wherever she wandered off, but I will let her traumatize you all with her own introduction.

Oh, also:

How good are the pools in this place?
