I'd like to turn to a type of song that people like myself find ourselves subjected to with increasing frequency as time goes on, and that is the college alma mater. You'll find yourself at a reunion of grads, and old undergrads, and eh... somebody will start croaking out one of these things and everyone will gradually join in -- each in his own key, of course -- until the place is just soggy with nostalgia. Well, a typical such song might be called Bright College Days, and might go like this. Bright college days, O carefree days that fly, To thee we sing with our glasses raised on high. Let's drink a toast as each of us recalls Ivy-covered professors in ivy-covered halls. Turn on the spigot, pour the beer and swig it, and gaudeamus igit-ur. My birthday was yesterday, making me 22, and my powers also returned, which means yesterday was a total win. Since I'm too hungover in no mood to think, I have a question for everyone -- what qualities attract you to others?

Last week was absolutely exhausting. I could seriously cry. Like, having people being happy and awake and chipper around you is totally unpleasant and I'd rather die a few thousand times than deal with it again.

People are sooooo hyperrrrr. I'm just not used to that. I mean, how many fucks could you possibly give in a 9AM lecture?

I'm pretty sure I just hate excitement. And paying attention. Taking notes. Homework. Lecturesss. Whatever. ♥

Oh, and if anyone has any clover honey in their pantry / fridge / whatever, I will totally worship you if you let me borrow it.

This semester looks like it'll be off to a good start. Most of my students seem to be excited about the class, and that in turn makes me excited.
