Man, I love it when ordinary people write books about mythology and try to combine all the different pantheons with each other. This is so amusing.
In other news: I've been to a bookstore. Yes, I know, that's a surprise. And while I was looking through several books, I stumbled upon a gem named "Kiss of Frost (Mythos Academy Novels)". I've only read the first couple of pages, but basically it's about an epic battle between Athena (+her army) and Loki. Athena wins because of lovely me, of course. Being Nike is so cool!

I heard from my parents for the first time in a while today. Not much of it was noteworthy, just the usual 'how are you's and 'how are your studies coming along' and 'have you terrorized anyone yet?' sort of banter that I'd have to suppose is typical of parents.
But I certainly got a kick out of hearing that the spot where my first church used to be has been very recently bulldozed to make room for a parking lot. For what, I'm not really certain, but I suppose I don't really care.
That little church wasn't very well-off in the first place, and when you factor in the bad handling of the budget and the infighting, well, they ended up losing out the property to whatever corporation decided to fight for it.
My parents seemed shocked that I wasn't upset. But, really, I'm not. The building itself doesn't mean anything, and as for the community, well, if their fellowship has been strong enough over the years, they're not going to let a little thing like D-Lot separate them. As long as there's someone willing to spread the message, and people willing to be good to one another and the community at large, I don't think there's a single thing to be upset about.
On another note, I seem to have missed the fireworks. I can't say I'm unhappy about that.
