Montenegro University -- Day [entries|friends|calendar]

I'd like to turn to a type of song that people like myself find ourselves subjected to with increasing frequency as time goes on, and that is the college alma mater. You'll find yourself at a reunion of grads, and old undergrads, and eh... somebody will start croaking out one of these things and everyone will gradually join in -- each in his own key, of course -- until the place is just soggy with nostalgia. Well, a typical such song might be called Bright College Days, and might go like this. Bright college days, O carefree days that fly, To thee we sing with our glasses raised on high. Let's drink a toast as each of us recalls Ivy-covered professors in ivy-covered halls. Turn on the spigot, pour the beer and swig it, and gaudeamus igit-ur. Here's to parties we tossed, To the games that we lost, We shall claim that we won them some day. To the girls young and sweet, To the spacious back seat of our beat up Chevrolet.

I think I might be the only person sad the lights returned.

Got into an argument in class today with people who actually believe the bullshit that is the Friend Zone. It was fun.

HIRE ME!

No, seriously. Does anybody know of a decent job for me? I think I really suck as waitress, though...

[ mood | quixotic ]

You know you had a good night when you wake up in your own bed wearing a shirt you don't recognize. I'd like to thank the gentleman who let me borrow said shirt after I ripped my dress, since that was incredibly kind of you. Also, if anyone knows someone willing to fix my dress on the cheap, I'd appreciate it.

Today was my day off from the Camelot Pub, and I should have been out trying to get a second job so I can afford to pay my tuition costs, but instead I've been looking for my cell phone and playing with this 'Random Magical Effect Generator' that I found online. I'm not sure I like the effect I got -- 'There is an earthquake and then you are compelled to obey the first order given to you for a week.' -- that doesn't sound very fun at all!

Anyone know where I might find a second job that has nothing to do with serving food? Maybe some enterprising professor needs a secretary or something? Possibly?

Thank you for last night, I had fun.

...also, was I dreaming, or did you confiscate my phone?

I was an idiot, and I need your advice. Please.

[ mood | blah ]

With everything that's happened, I thought I would be immune to boredom for a while, but I'm not sure that's the case. I feel restless, no matter what I do.

The things I used to be interested in just don't seem as...well, interesting to me anymore. I've tried to bake, and I've made enough smoothies that I could practically open my own business, but...I'm highly disinterested. You're all welcome to stop by and have me fix you something if you'd like, though. It's not as if I've gotten bad at it.

So I guess I'm in the mood for new things. Anything. Music would be a nice place to start. Maybe I just need a new routine. Or something interesting to do.

I beheaded a monster. I don't think my summer can get much more interesting than that.

- 1 - must be the season of the witch [26 Jun 2012|08:50pm]
[ As many of you know, Irene had gone on a vacation for two weeks - it's summer, after all!

A pity, though, since she missed quite the major thing going down. She had a vague description of the creatures(?) and that was not nearly enough, she believes. ]

Now, I was gone for fourteen days and it seems as if all (or at least some part of) hell broke loose in my absence.

I would be endlessly grateful for any details regarding this what to even call it unfortunate incident.

I should inform students that classes are continuing as closely to their original scheduling as possible. Those who were subject to the event - please stop interrupting the lectures by showing pictures you took on your cell phones. If I see another cell phone out of somebody's pocket, I'm confiscating it for the rest of the semester. If you do need to make or receive an important call or message, please exit the room to do so. I shouldn't have to be telling you kids this.

Correspondingly, I'm pleased to hear that everyone is in - or will be in - good health following last week's situation. That's the best we could have hoped for.

To those who allowed me to lend my meager talents at the Wellness Center - thank you.

Ready for those drinks?

[Filtered to Grace]

Settled back in alright?

I know our previous plans were put on hold because of the event, but if you're available any afternoon, let me know. I'd still like to take you to Denver.

How are you holding up?
