Montenegro University -- Day [entries|friends|calendar]

I'd like to turn to a type of song that people like myself find ourselves subjected to with increasing frequency as time goes on, and that is the college alma mater. You'll find yourself at a reunion of grads, and old undergrads, and eh... somebody will start croaking out one of these things and everyone will gradually join in -- each in his own key, of course -- until the place is just soggy with nostalgia. Well, a typical such song might be called Bright College Days, and might go like this. Bright college days, O carefree days that fly, To thee we sing with our glasses raised on high. Let's drink a toast as each of us recalls Ivy-covered professors in ivy-covered halls. Turn on the spigot, pour the beer and swig it, and gaudeamus igit-ur. Here's to parties we tossed, To the games that we lost, We shall claim that we won them some day. To the girls young and sweet, To the spacious back seat of our beat up Chevrolet.

I'm going to ask these people something, see if maybe they can figure out what deity I used to be.

[End Private]

Alright, I have a question for whoever wants to answer it. Any of you know of what deities are expressly linked to music, and umm trees? I did look, and I just got results about Christmas trees, and how Christmas is pagan, and something about the goddess Hathor.

Pretty damn sure I wasn't her.

I should never show my face here again. My words, rather. That's awkward, too... No one else can read this, Kim. Well. Here's to hoping everyone was as out of sorts as I was last weekend.

He's going to kill me.

The news is about a month old, so I apologize if you've heard it before, but the Infinity Chilli has been overtaken by the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion as the world's hottest pepper. Some fruits reach two million on the Scoville scale. Two million. Amazing.

I've already bought a dried form of the pepper. I doubt it's as powerful as the fresh stuff, but I'm certainly not going to pay that kind of money for seeds I won't be able to tend to. Would anyone be brave enough to try it with me? Preferably someone who knows how to cook.

I won't judge you if you cry. It's almost physiologically impossible not to when taking in something that hot.

[Private to Eve]

I'm sure we've both realized what was at play last weekend. Still, I want you to know that I had a wonderful time, shit-faced magically intoxicated or not. We should [pause] do that again.

[ mood | curious ]

So, after my last post, because of a comment some chick made, I went and did mad research on motorcycles and how useful one would be in a zombie apocalypse. I have reason to find end-of-world scenarios interesting, if people haven't noticed.

Anyway, I was curious and checked around, discovering that going off pure speculation (since nothing's been released about it), all signs point to Daryl Dixon's motorcycle being a Triumph Bonneville 650. It's a British bike, and known for being highly customizable. For example, did you know that it's apparently bitch-easy to convert a motorcycle to use diesel fuel instead of unleaded? That would make refueling less of a hassle. The lack of a spare tire, noise level, and cover could be a challenge, but you're trading those for maneuverability and a better scouting vehicle so it's a fair trade. Long ramble short, I want a motorcycle to tinker with, except I'd want some kind of a dual-sport bike for the bigger gas tank and lower engine noise output. These things are important to survival.

After all my looking into all this, I have to ask - say there was a zombie outbreak and this place was put on lockdown; who would you want on your survival crew? I've got a few people in mind for mine, I think they know who they are...

It's not a good day. Happy Birthday to me.

[Public]
How good is the cake at Four & Twenty Blackbirds? Are the pieces big? I could go for a big slice of cake and I don't want to make it. It's my birthday, after all.

As for the house hunting, you were right stranger from my last post, housing prices are a bit frightening here. Not that I expected it to be cheap, just more affordable. I'd settle for a nicer apartment or condo, but I need my garden.

Sooo~ It's starting to get a little warmer, which is awesome, because hopefully I'll be seeing less of you in hoodies and sweatpants. It's not a good look for anyone. Trust me.

But, it totally makes me want to get out and do something. Would anyone be interested in getting their nails done with me? Mine are getting...ugh. So awful. :| And, just looking at you all, some of you really freakin' need yours done, too.

And, girl who took my Twinkies? Thank you. Those things were gross.

Holy shit! I wish I was still performing. No! Don't go there.

CLICK THIS LINK AND THANK ME LATER.

I'd love to get to be so good that I can come up with beautiful and creative dances like this one! I absolutely adore the humor brought to such a flawless and gorgeous performance. The opening alone was just...I think I sat here with my jaw gaping the whole time. I'm sure I started grinning, though, at some point because my cheeks hurt.

Also makes me wish I had gotten the chance to see this live. Poo.

Does anybody need some luck for something really important? I feel generous today.
