Puella Quam Amo Est Pulchra
[Sitting in her dorm room, alternating between working on a paper for her Musical Theory class and getting everything ready for her date later, Aria found herself overcome by an intense feeling of longing towards Aidan. Wrinkling her nose at the randomness of it, she chalked the desire to see him up to the fact that they were going out later, brushing it off so she could concentrate. She couldn't even remember the last time going on a date made her this giddy, but she could dwell on that later. Now she had to finish writing her paper.
Pausing to check her source material, she glanced down at what she'd written so far and was shocked to find she'd apparently been subconsciously looking towards the future and attempting to determine if down the road they got married she'd be better off hyphenating her last name or not by writing her name with his over and over in a neat little list.
Aidan Donovan Graveley and Aria Harper Dixon -- damn, they had awesomely complimentary names!
Aria Dixon-Graveley -- it did have a nice ring to it, but Aidan was a traditionalist and would probably prefer any wife of his to take his last name.
Aria Graveley -- that could work.
Aria Harper Graveley -- swanky.
Snapping out of her reverie, she crumpled up the piece of paper and went back to attempting to work. It was obvious after a few minutes that no matter how hard she tried, she was just too excited about her date later to do anything other than spin elaborate fantasies about how awesomely it would go. She had an amazing dress picked out, she'd memorized every book on etiquette and polite conversation she could find (there would be no discussing possible backseat antics over wine, Aria resolved to bring her A game so Aidan could see that she was classy) hopeful that by the end of the night there would be no question as to where they stood with one another.
Throwing down her pen, she stretched, feeling the muscles in her back pop and settle. Taking a few deep breaths, she picked up the dress she'd be wearing later, holding it up against her as she imagined his reaction. Would she hit all the right notes? Would he be stunned? Would it be everything she hoped? She almost didn't care, because she was going out on a date with Aidan Donovan Graveley! Now, to wait.]
I've got a date tonight! I can't wait, only a few more hours to go. I just know everything is going to go well, all the signs are there, so how could it not? I can't even remember the last time I was this... well, everything, really about a date, but that can't be a bad thing, right? Right.
This song is gorgeous. It's so simple and yet so evocative. I had forgotten how incredible a band 'Bright Eyes' is. I sometimes believe that Conor Oberst has a window right into my soul...
