Bethany looked at Archer. For a spilt second, it might have looked as though she was about to return the smile, but she turned her head just as one of her cheeks lifted. "Yeah."
Unfolding herself, she pointed to the small TV stand. Sitting there underneath the TV were all of her games, lined up alphabetically. They took up the whole shelf, but she still wished she had more. But video games were expensive, and she didn't have much money. As it was, some of them were bought used. "Those are my games. Pick one."
As she waited for Archer to pick one, one of the dead, Eleanor, started speaking to her. Bethany shrugged and whispered the words, "I know. Just... Later." Talking to herself, rather the dead, wasn't new, but doing it again in front of her half-sister felt awkward. It didn't used to be. Then again, she couldn't remember how she felt the last time they were together. Maybe it was because she knew she was leaving, so she didn't collect any more memories. Or maybe it was because it wasn't that important.
"You," she said, pausing as if she had lost her train of thought. "How are you?"
