"There's no such thing as a boring color." Blythe reassured her, smiling brightly. "And it's all about the fun! It would just be another reason to spend more time with you." She returned the wink. "I just paint what I feel. There aren't any rules about it. If you want to paint sideways, you paint sideways. If you want to make blue flowers and red vines, then you make blue flowers and red vines."
It thrilled her how much Cai loved the gift. There was nothing more that she wanted to do than show her friend how much she cared. Cai was one of the few people in her life she held this dear.
Bringing back the bag and helping Cai place the gift gently in it, she could barely contain her energy. "I'll have to think of making you a suncatcher, too, sometime! I've always wanted to try glass work. You're welcome!" When the bag was safely out of the way, Blythe hugged Cai. "Happy birthday."
When they pulled apart, Blythe squeezed her hand. "Let me get you some gloves and the shoes!"
