"It makes sense, I mean what mother would feel comfortable with the idea of her only child going off to war? The brings up the whole idea that you could be hurt, or worse, killed, and no mother wants to think of her child dying before her." Not that she was trying to justify his mothers' attempts to control his life, but from a womanly perspective it made sense.
Aria had never dealt with someone trying to stifle her creative energy. From a young age her love of music was not only encouraged but looked upon as a gift, and if her family had gotten their way she'd still be out there on tour with the 'Dueling Dixons' and would probably have been miserable. She could empathize with Arron wanting to blaze his own path and take life by the balls. It wasn't a mindset that Aria had huge amounts of experience with, but she understood not wanting to be chained to somebody elses' ideas of what was best. She figured that was something all reincarnates went through, as she had yet to meet one that saw themselves enjoying a simple life doing something mundane.
Closing her eyes for a moment she smiled, chuckling. "You do have a point. There's no glory in sitting in a chair and having battles be determined by whoever has the better guidance system in their missiles. The thing about shooting people, or even fist fighting is that you can look the person you're up against in the eye and get a measure of their character." She could see how that would be intoxicating in its' own way. "Maybe one day I'll show it to you," Aria offered, her tone more flirty than she intended.
"It entails, good word choice by the way, learning how to play, teach, and write music. I'm studying musicology, which is essentially the history of music." Now the tables were turned, he'd switched the focus to her although she doubted he was all that interested. "You name it, and I can probably play it. Training-wise, I've studied the flute, double flute, piano, and violin, but I have this uncanny knack for picking up new instruments easily."
