Aria smiled at his nod. She didn't want this date to turn sour, not when he obviously put so much effort into it. Much as she already didn't like this restaurant, with it's snooty patrons and officious-looking waiters, she wanted him to get out of whatever slump he was in, and if pretending this was all well and good with her than she could do it. In another life he'd been her half-sister, and while they'd never interacted back then she felt as though it was almost her duty as a muse to make him feel better. If she was lucky word wouldn't get back to his bitchy step-sister. Dealing with her was the last thing she wanted to do.
"I want to know about counter-terrorism, yes, and whatever else you want to tell me," she responded, leaning forward to show her interest. She listened intently to his explanation, laughing at the way he chose to phrase it. "I've never quite heard it explained that way," she pointed out, a thought occurring to her. "Will you be joining the military after you finish college, then, and possibly going overseas?" He seemed like he would do well in that type of environment, especially considering who he was. It was as much of a perfect fit as he was liable to find in this day and age.
"There are those who consider those weapons to be great advances in the art of war, though, and feel it's less barbaric." She didn't agree with them, but felt it had to be said. Holding out her glass for more wine, she nodded. "I've always liked watching MMA because I know I wouldn't be good at doing it. I can't really take a punch all that well, though I've been told I've got a good left hook."
