Euterpe shit Ares a sunny smile that she didn't feel, her body already starting to tense up as they walked into the restaurant. She didn't bother responding to his comment since she assumed he knew what she'd say anyway. Still, she could tell that he was aware of the gazes of the patrons they walked past, and made sure to sway her hips with just enough flair to make their eyes go to one of her best assets. She figured he would appreciate that.
Despite her own misgivings about how this night could go, the fact that he obviously wasn't feeling up to the date had her pushing aside any frustration as she reached out and placed one hand over his. "I'd like that, or even just going for a drive. I'll be honest with you, places like this make me feel awkward. It's like they know I'm not one of them..." The last part was whispered with just enough of an attempt at joking that Euterpe hoped he cut her some slack. She really was trying, and could tell this was his way of trying too, and she didn't want him to think she didn't notice that. She watched as a waiter came and poured some wine, offering their server a slight grin.
"I've never been much of a wine drinker, but I think we could both use some alcohol," she responded before downing her entire glass.
