Hey Kaldur. Are you still feeling the aster for this place?
Sorry I had to raincheck yesterday but I was still hoping to find Tim.
At this point I hope he's gone back through the portal. It's better than the alternatives.
I am sorry about Tim. Where I came from, we did not experience this "boomerang" effect, as the archer known as Hawkeye has called it. I do hope he will return soon, unharmed.
Do not apologize, however. He is your family, if it is anything like it was for you all at home.
As for the aster, I am indeed continuing to enjoy the feeling. I have moved to New Asgard.
My house is by the water, which is far preferable to the metal walls of the Facility—which were still nicer than what I had become accustomed to.
Is there anything I can do to help you search?
You didn't? That's interesting, your portal seems to be a lot more stable than ours. I hope he does too.
Thanks, I appreciate the understanding.
Hey, that's great! I had a feeling you'd move out there.
I'm still planning to get even with Hydra for what they did.
At the moment I'm not sure where else to check, he'd have to be on foot, unless he took a boat. Nobody has mentioned one missing in New Asgard?
I have had the opportunity to read more about this insidious organization, and cannot agree more. Perhaps it is something we can pursue together, after Tim's safe return.
No, I have heard nothing, but I will ask again as soon as I can.
Definitely together. I think a few others will join us too.
Thanks, Kaldur.
Do you miss your home?
I do. It's complicated. I only just remembered being Nightwing before I got here.
Do you?
This sounds like a story, and I would like to hear it, but only if you wish to tell it.
I do as well. The ocean brings me comfort, but the silence beneath it is deafening. My people are not here. I try not to dwell, but some days are more difficult than others.
There's always a story it seems. I don't mind telling you at all, you're a friend.
I'm sorry, I can't imagine how that must feel. If you ever need company, or to talk, just say.
Once Tim is recovered, I will indeed "say".
Good. Make sure you do.
I know it seems mad to say, but I do miss one thing about my previous arrangements.
Oh? Being on an island?
No, not that.
I miss the structure.
Having things to do to occupy my mind and body.
I totally understand.
I missed my routine too.
But I have shifts on security detail which help. Then a gym for training. It's just my mind that isn't always occupied.
Is there anything here you might like to do?
I have enjoyed going for midnight swims and patrolling the coast when I grow too restless. But I have not my King's talent for speaking with whatever aquatic life I encounter.
And judging by the network traffic I have seen, I would not wish to burden anyone with my inconsequential concerns, especially since they are personal in nature.
You have your magic as a talent instead. I don’t find your concerns inconsequential.
There are a group of young heroes here who need training and guidance. I’m letting Tim take the lead. But I am helping where I can, if you’d be interested in sharing your wisdom with them, I’m sure they’d appreciate it.
The League often sent members to act as mentors for us when we first branched off on our own. It would be a true honor to offer my guidance to Tim and the others. Are they all from your universe?
Sounds like the League was slightly more hands on in your world.
They’re from a few different places. Some of them are from here, Courtney is from another different world, I’m not sure where Cassie and Cissie are from.
Intriguing. I will make every effort to introduce myself when Tim is back.
Rad! I’m sure we can help them work together effectively in no time.
I look forward to it.
Rest easy, my friend. May your brother return to you soon.
