Thread | Frank & Karen
Who: Frank Castle and Karen Page
What: Sharing notes over breakfast
When: Morning, November 16th
Where: Diner near the facility
Warnings: Canon-typical strong language
Status: In progress
The diner wasn't too far from the Facility, and Frank had chosen this one because, as busy as it was for breakfast, he could watch the door and view the entire block of the street from the booth where they were sitting. He'd noted the patrons there when he'd come in; four had left, and six had entered when they ordered food. It was a hopping place, and Frank needed that, so no one paid them any mind, including the overworked waitress.
Frank watched Karen as he added a single creamer to his black coffee, which barely lightened the surface, which was how he liked it. She seemed to be adjusting better than he was. They were in the past, and this was some magical New York City where anything was possible. He'd thought that was already the case, but he was being proved that his worries weren't deep enough every day.
"Checked Hell's Kitchen last night," Frank began as he took his coffee mug by anything but the handle. "I guess they had no one to stop the gentrification here. Everything was beautiful and bright. There wasn't even trash, and I bumped into more than one officer walking his beat. Noting like our Hell's Kitchen, though that ain't the name anymore."
