He didn't even blink as the gun was pulled on him, barely managing to stifle a weary sigh when the trigger was pulled. The bullet filled half of his vision while it sped across the small distance toward him before slamming harmlessly into his eye. "You really thought that would work?" In one quick motion, Kal had the guy in an armlock, gun crushed under one scarlet boot. His free hand relieved the criminal of the duffel full of cash and he tossed it back to the shell shocked cashier. "You won't be needing money where you're going, just commissary."
Drifting down from the heavens with an incapacitated adversary was part of a day’s work for Kal, but he understood why a crowd of people had gathered outside the police precinct to watch his entrance. Even in Metropolis, where Superman was a regular sight, the novelty of actually seeing him in person hadn’t worn off. Scanning the faces as he hovered closer, he picked out an officer and handed off the thief as he landed. His feet barely touched the floor before he took flight again, this time heading home.
He never made it.
One minute he was flying high above the city, enjoying the feeling of cool, fresh air against his face and sunlight on his skin; the next he was rocketing toward a solid looking concrete wall under harsh artificial lights. Coming to a dead stop, he hovered mid air, twisting in place to take in his new surroundings. Kal knew instantly that this was not his earth, nor was it the so called Prime Earth where the other Paragons resided. There was a subtle difference in the resonance of the place. Evidently he had dimension hopped again, yet this time he hadn’t needed an escort to cross to the different universe.
