YJ vs JGA, ROUND ONE. FIGHT. Who: Assorted members of Young Justice, Batwoman, Nightwing Where: Outskirts of Blüdhaven When: April 14th Summary: Hiro broke everything. Just as Young Justice cleans up some of the mess--and battles a giant mecha tanuki to do it (incidentally saving their teammate)--in comes Batwoman with a misunderstanding about what the kids' intentions are. OOC: This is a timeskip to the aftermath of this thread!
Blüdhaven was a city that had seen a lot of things in its years, and many of them were about as bizarre as one could think. A rampaging mecha thrashing its way through the outskirts of the city was particularly strange, but it was New Jersey and during a bizarre technological crisis no less. Sometimes shit just happened. That the mech was ten tons of giant tanuki with equally giant physical attributes took the cake, whereas teenagers doing battle with it took about forty of them. And yet, Super Mecha-Tanuki, Destroyer of Worlds, was not nearly as impressive as it had been, metal twisted and bent and creepy wide eyes staring blankly forward as it lay in ruins.
After some small time, its chest gave off a hydraulic hiss, a hatch slowly opening in its chest. Thankfully for the intrepid heroes that had felled the beast, absolutely nothing horrifying popped out.
Instead, it was a small Japanese teenager in obvious distress and disarray.
"Ow, dammit," the inventor groaned as he levered himself up out of the hatch. He flinched, almost falling back inside as the robotic monstrosity seemed to twitch. A spray of sparks shot off from the damaged lower half, and that time he really did drop back inside. He waited just a moment before he peeked up out again, trying to scramble up and out on the off chance something else was about to go horribly wrong.
It took a little bit of doing, but he managed to slide his way onto a dent on its stomach without falling off entirely. The rest of the process for getting down would be a little tricky, but progress was progress, and there were more important issues to address. First and foremost was, "Oh, man, 's everyone okay?"
At least they didn't all die a fiery death, he supposed. That had to count for something.
