Narrative
Who: The Joker
Where: Arkham Asylum, Gotham city.
When: Wednesday, April 14th
Summary: Locked up in Arkham during the pandemonium.
Undergoing the transitions of what seemed to be the natural state of dreaming. The obscure voices and movements were becoming much clearer just outside the confines of his padded cell; it was the abrupt blare of the sound alarm that snapped the prisoner awake. With his back resting against the cushioned dingy cornered wall-- the patient’s thin yet tall form had his legs stretched across the floor in his prison of solitude.
His eyes blinked heavily as they tried to adjust to the flaring red lights that flickered alternatively, and in his failed attempt to move, he realised that he'd been tightly bounded in Arkham's distinct white laced straitjacket. Oh yes-- a garment that was imperative for a psychopathic criminal such as himself... perhaps it was the consequence of his close attempt to end the life of a fellow inmate, whom senselessly challenged the Clown Prince of Crime during one of his unpleasant dispositions. Fortunately, for the other inmate, interference arrived and the Joker was tackled forcibly down onto the pavement floor, while the doctors shot a long tube of tranquiliser into his arm-- It was quite evident that these outbursts of violence would result in such confinements. Still feeling relatively drowsy from the medicine, his tousled green curls draped over his bare features. A smile crept upon his lips as that memory from the previous night came flooding back to him.
Apathetically lifting his head from his chest, he observed the many heads that raced past the slender window of his cell. Gotham had gone topsy-turvy, or so it seemed, he could only imagine the bewildered staff, frantically running around like headless chickens. He could almost smell their overwhelming fear and anxiety. The inmates’ shouts and yells were heard echoing down the hallways. The lights within his room began to fluctuate incessantly.
"What the--!"
"What's happening?!"
"Verify that every patient remains in their cell, we're going into total lock down!"
A grin stretched across his face as he thought to himself, "Finally some entertainment.." Yet it wasn't as amusing as it could've been since he was not the cause of this frenzy, and that cut his joyous moment short. It became clear to him that something was amiss, something monumental was occurring. His mind became lucid, as if he hadn't been sedated. To him this event seemed like an auspicious sign, and a plan began to form and take shape in his mind's eye... It would soon be his time to leave.
