Who: Iris West (And if someone else should show up that's cool)
Where: Secret Sanctuary Monitoring room
When: 4:48pm May 8th, 2010
What: Iris is doing everything humanly possible to avoid studying for her first batch of final exams ever.
Exams. Sure this is a normal thing, something everyone goes through, but all of Irey's classmates had suffered through six of these before. This batch was her first. Yes, there was studying, and she tried that, she tried that for what seemed to be hours. Just, things like the biology of plants, what Greek God did what, geometry AND writing a paper on some book about time travel through wrinkles? Not only was she sure that this didn't matter in some sort of way, but she was also convinced it was a conspiracy. To uh... Well, maybe she'd have to ask someone about that. Irey wasn't completely sure what conspiracies were, or fascists, but, she'd heard the terms used with emotions that felt like what she was feeling.
The day started out well enough. She woke up, got chased out of the TV room for spacewars the marathon. Chased dad about till he shooed her away, something about gorillas. Gorillas sounded really interesting. Maybe she could have gone home and it would be quiet, but, firstly that would be boring, and secondly, Jai was being an exceptional butt in taking up the TV and being a general ball of angst, so that was right out. After that she went to the Sanctuary, and got in maybe 2 hours of study, before she got a bit derailed.
Ok, so she'd agreed to give out fliers for a few of the local eateries so she could restock the fridge. Done. Then she cleaned the kitchen area, the common area, and that grody stuff in the bathrooms. Then, she watched all the cartoons that were on the main computer, and, reaffirmed that Japan is a really messed up place. Then the com monitoring. Last week there was a guy from something called the "Pork Chop Express" who had a ton of stories, most of them really interesting, sadly he wasn't there today. It was quiet.
Tapping on the communicators she waited a bit. "Hello, Impulse checking in. Anyone need uh, help, or anything, or uh, know about Geometry or Greek Myth stuff? Maybe see ol' Jack Burton? Whoever that is, he had some interesting stories on the radio. Meh."
Looking back at the monitor she sighed, then looked at her books and pondered if there was anything else that needed doing. This final stuff was no fun at all.
