One of Grundy's large hands shot out to try and swat the flash grenade away, but he was still moving too slowly. The flash grenade exploded at his feet. It illuminated the tunnel with a sudden brightness as if a thousand camera flashes had just gone off in the subway. For a moment the shadows held, burned into after images on the tunnel walls before everything faded back into darkness.
Grundy let out a roar and clamped one hand over his eyes. He turned, lashing out blindly, hitting the train and hoping to hit the Creeper as well. There was a vague plan of grabbing the Creeper then pummeling him against the train, but Grundy was far too pained to think the idea through. Grabbing the Creeper and breaking him in two pieces would work just as well.
"SOLOMON GRUNDY," he repeated, voice deep and booming through the small space. "BORN ON A MONDAY."
