Who: Rook, Impulse and any other members of Young Justice that wander in.
Where: Young Justice HQ
When: April 22nd - late afternoon
Summary: Damian's using the HQ computers to catch up and crack down on some stray information - as usual, there is someone around HQ for the exact purpose of making that difficult. Cue Impulse.
Damian tapped away at the keys to Toyman's workstation. While he could have been doing this back at the house he shared with Grayson, he felt the need to be someone else for a change. He excused his irrational feelings by convincing himself that it was logical to use HQ's computer systems. They have far greater computing power and a much wider access to data than would normally be at his disposal. The excuses worked, and armed with a ready made explanation for his presence, not that anyone would ask, he had headed off.
Now that he was here, though, he was growing frustrated. Someone had been messing with the computers, and several of Damian's background programs had crashed. While Okamura fixed a great deal, he couldn't have fixed what he did not know was there. This left Damian with a number of days gap in data collecting. And he disliked actually doing the work himself. While his new 'family' advocated detective work, Damian tended to find it boring and tedious more often then not.
His opinion had not changed recently, so manually retrieving all the files he needed frustrated him more than anything else. The last file captured by his program sat unwatched while he focused on his task. A great deal was happening in Gotham, and between his father being captured, Riddler's escapades and the Joker's escape, Damian had a lot to think about. He had already tried working at the Riddler's riddles, but none of them made sense. Even after the solved ones were explained to him, he could not see the connection. It added a further level of frustration to his already aggravated state.
So he focused instead on the media response to his father's kidnapping, reviewing responses and commentary, trying and failing to see the matter from all angles. He was not so focused as to become deadened to his surroundings though, so when he thought he saw something out of the corner of his eyes, Damian came to attention. Spinning around, bringing up a batarang in his hand, he called out "Show yourself." If it was someone up to no good, they likely would not, but he was supposed to offer his teammates the chance to reveal themselves before attacking. Of course, it had taken a few incidents before Damian had been firmly told to do so.
